Why does one need a Teak Wood Shower Mat?

Teak Bath Mats provide a non slip floor in your shower, allowing the water and soap to drain in between the slats and providing you with a relatively dry platform to stand on. Unlike standing on tile or fiberglass, standing on teak wood slats provides you with a better non slip surface which is also softer and warmer to stand on.

Our Teak Bath Shower mats have been used in showers of many sizes, including in RVs, in all cases they allow your feet to be drier when you exit the shower, and give you a less slippery surface to  stand on.

Our innovative customers have also found our Teak Bath Shower Mats to be useful as Door Mats at their houses on or near the beach. The mats allow the sand to fall straight through and are easy to pick up and brush the accumulated sand away.

What is good about Goldenteak Teak Bath Mats?

Goldenteak uses Premium Grade A teak wood for its bath mats just as in all the teak outdoor furniture. This is the heartwood and has plenty of natural oils and silica that reduces mold, rot and insect damage. It also makes the Teak Wood more impermeable to water, thus ensuring that the teak wood shower mat will not deteriorate with use.

Premium Grade A teak wood used for our Shower Mats or Rugs is very fine grained (compared to bamboo, acacia and other cheaper woods) and will not cause splinters to hurt your feet.  This is why teak was used on boat decks for centuries and is still used on decks of high end boats.

Goldenteak only uses Sustainably Sourced Teak Wood for its bath mats. Unlike Plastic our Teak is sourced from Government Plantations in Indonesia that are harvested in 20 year cycles.

Unlike our competition , Goldenteak only uses Grade A teak wood,  thick slats (for strength and longevity) and rubber feet (to prevent slippage).

Cleaning Teak Bath Mats

One can coat a Teak Bath mat with some water sealer (available at Big Box stores). This allows the water  to bead away on the surface and reduces the accumulation of soap scum over time.

But over time the teak wood shower mat will get some soap scum and grime on it. One can easily and quickly clean it with a sponge (like a kitchen dish sponge) and some soap and water.
